POSITION DESCRIPTION

Junior Achievement of Northern New England is seeking a committed and passionate individual to join our Programs Team. The Programs Coordinator will primarily be responsible for providing support to three Program Managers and the Director of Programs. Responsibilities include prepping Program Managers before program events at schools and external meetings. Responsibilities also include visiting schools to conduct evaluations, gather testimonials, and take photos of JA events in action. The Programs Coordinator will also work with the Director of Programs to disseminate evaluation data and create queries and pull reports from the BCRM database to be able to share with external stakeholders and staff. The position requires an acute attention to detail and ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities at once. We are a small office of passionate individuals looking to make a difference in the lives of young people by providing them the life skills necessary to be successful adults and contributing members of society. This is a newly formed position with opportunity to expand and grow in responsibilities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALITIES

  • Prepare relevant collateral for Program Managers to share at school meetings, corporate recruitment meetings, and corporate volunteer trainings.
  • Prepare evaluations for JA in a Day events, including providing paper copies to Program Managers in advance of events and communicating with the School Coordinator to go to schools before and after program events to conduct and collect the pre and post-survey evaluations.
  • Enter evaluation data in relevant spreadsheets.
  • Conduct research, as necessary, on schools and companies, including history of JA involvement and share with Programs Team and other staff members attending meetings.
  • Respond to individual volunteer inquiries.
  • Conduct bi-monthly volunteer webinar trainings and match individual volunteers with volunteer opportunities.
  • Ensure Programs/Volunteer Calendar is up-to-date and includes all necessary details.
  • Communicate regularly with Program Managers and provide other support functions as necessary, including with larger student events such as the JA Summer Institute and JA STEM Symposium.
  • Learn functions of BCRM database and enter and update data as required, including constituent and organization records, interactions, history, and pulling reports for Director of Programs and rest of the team.
  • Work closely with Development Team to ensure Programs Team is aware of deliverable requirements for grants.
  • Design and pull together program data and information for impact reports for donors, volunteer companies, and schools.
  • Complete special projects, including some administrative in nature, for the Director of Programs.
  • Support organization, as requested, at special events, Board meetings, teaching JA programs in classrooms, and other meetings.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required: Excellent written and verbal communications with strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail and diligent follow through a must. Ability to effectively work under tight deadlines and manage projects independently while sticking to a fast paced strategy plan. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook for email and calendars. Desire to work hard and play hard in a collaborative environment.

Desired: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Prior experience working within education preferred. Experience with data entry and database management and social media savvy a plus.

Travel is absolutely required within our entire footprint. Must have a reliable vehicle and be able to work at our office in Bedford, MA.

Willingness to work outside of “9-5” including early mornings, evenings, and some weekends.
