We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Practitioner Nurse to join our client team in Ottawa. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in a variety of clinical settings. This position reports to the Director of Nursing.

Position- Registered Practitioner Nurse

Pay Rate – $35-40 an hour.

Timings –

Full-time nights, 11 pm-7 am 10 shifts in 2 weeks with every second weekend off

Full-time evenings 3 pm-11 pm 10 shifts in 2 weeks with every second weekend off

Responsibilities:

  • Providing planned patient oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with the provincial standards of care
  • To work closely within the interdisciplinary team to provide patient care
  • Ensure consistency in approach and optimum benefit for the patient by assessing, and identifying patient goals, planning implementing, and evaluating patients progress
  • To use the knowledge, skill, and judgment process to plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for all residents
  • To function in the leadership role to organize patient care assignments
  • To monitor regularly for changes in the nursing plan care for the patient
  • To teach, and evaluate the learning of patients, families, and nursing students

Qualifications:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Basic CPR and First aid
  • Strong knowledge base and experience with seniors, and demonstrate patient focused care
  • Patient care documentation
  • Excellent team player, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Able to respond to crisis situations, demonstrate critical thinking, and comply with the demands of the unit
  • Excellent understanding of medication administration, policies on narcotics, medication administration and MARS
  • Performs all duties as assigned
