JTS leads the NW in providing diverse professional staff to major public works projects including transit, rail, aviation, and/or water/wastewater facilities and conveyance systems. Our passion for excellence has helped our clients like WSDOT, King County, and Sound Transit successfully deliver capital projects for nearly 30 years. We seek multi-discipline Inspectors for this year’s exciting construction projects.


  • Monitor and document contractors’ work for compliance with contract documents and permits

  • Report safety deficiencies and violations when observed

  • Identify construction issues and recommend potential solutions

  • Review plans, specifications, submittals, drawings, change orders, and Requests for Information for requirements of the construction contract to be applied in the field

  • Maintain documentation including inspection logs, daily reports, force accounts, materials testing, and other construction records

  • Observe, evaluate, and document force account and change order work

  • Verify field measurements/quantities for payments and evaluate contractor’s invoices

  • Identify and track contractors’ work that is out of compliance or deficient and initiate Non-Conformance Reports when needed

  • Participate in team meetings and advise less experienced staff

  • Witness or coordinate special inspections, testing (on or off-site) of materials, equipment, and installations

  • Review project record drawings, and ensure they are up to date

  • During project closeout inspect punch list items, and provide status reports on progress towards completion


  • High school diploma, technical/trade school certificate or equivalent

  • Three years’ experience inspecting educational, transportation or water/wastewater facilities

  • Valid WA Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with CM teammates, contractors and public

  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications

  • Able to use laptops, smartphones, and tablets with applicable software

  • Knowledge of construction including material, methods, plans and specifications, and safety requirements

  • Knowledge of WSDOT or City of Seattle Standard Specifications and Construction Manual preferred

  • Able and willing to work occasional day or night shifts or flexible schedule including weekends as required

  • Work in inclement weather conditions.

  • Safety awareness to maintain a safe working environment
