This position is responsible for directing the day-to-day activity of all crew members and has overall responsibility for the successful planning and execution of landscape projects including softscape, hardscape, irrigation, drainage, lighting, water features, and snow removal services. Individual is responsible for timely, courteous, and efficient response to client's and managements' needs. Responsibilities include managing crew to achieve all productivity, revenue, safety, and company policy issues. Must maintain complete, accurate and timely records for the company and comply with all governmental regulations. Responsible for the safety, care, and proper utilization of all company assets and crew members. Successful candidate must have the ability to work closely with managers, sales designers, crew members and clients. Candidate must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Participates in Snow and Ice activities at the direction of S&I Operations Manager.

Requirements
  • Must have a minimum of three or more years' experience overseeing landscape installation/construction crew.
  • Represent the company's best interest in all interaction and communication with clients, vendors, subcontractors and co-workers.
  • Consistently shows up for work on time fully dressed in appropriate clothing and footwear and evaluates if the crews are dressed appropriately for work.
  • Work with personnel, materials, and resources to complete projects on budget and on time meeting our client's expectations.
  • Work closely with Operations Manager and Design Team to interpret and implement project design.
  • Manage crew members to ensure safety and care of clients' property as well as the company's vehicles and equipment. Ability to share knowledge and provide training in the field.
  • Has knowledge of, adheres to, and ensures the proper utilization of company policies and regulations (i.e. safety, water restrictions, and regulatory compliance issues).
  • Communicate and coordinate accurate, timely and understandable paperwork and information flow with appropriate personnel.
  • Constant goal to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations and quality of work completed.
  • Work with crews towards the smooth and timely achievement of all client service objectives.
  • Attend safety and company training and be able to operate and maintain company machinery and hand tools.
  • Adheres to company and governmental policies and regulations including DOT and fleet maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain company vehicle (keep clean and organized). Complete all necessary DOT vehicle logs, and report any damage or problems to mechanics.
  • Be well organized and professional in appearance and action.
  • Brief supervisors and others as necessary on job status, personnel issues or customer issues.
  • Must have a good understanding of landscape installation methods and techniques and the machinery, tools, and labor needed to accomplish work.
  • Must demonstrate leadership skills and previous supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to read and interpret landscape plans and specifications.
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License and be willing to obtain a CDL.
  • Must be able to use a Skid Steer, Forklift, Backhoe, Loader and Trencher.
  • Must be able to pass random and post-accident drug testing.
  • Work hours vary from 7am to 7pm with overtime potential.
  • Must be able to work overtime and Saturday's when required.
  • Responsible for ensuring job site quality and appearance meet client's and company standards.
  • Responsible for understanding client needs and ongoing communication with clients.
  • Act as intermediary between crews and management.
  • Understand the contractual obligations for each job site and directs the work of the crew accordingly.
  • Establish a relationship with customers.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Duties are performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to repeatedly bend, stoop, lift, push and pull materials and equipment to complete job tasks. Ability to lift 50 lbs. of weight frequently throughout the day.
  • Ability to work in various positions including but not limited to, standing, walking, stooping, bending, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods.

Desired:
  • 7+years of field experience within a residential /commercial landscape environment.
  • Possess horticultural or strong plant knowledge background.
  • Possess CLT Certification.
  • Bilingual communication a plus.

Candidates may be required to submit to a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
