Sr. Lead Quality Inspector/Technician T-H or DIRECT HIRE

This is aTemp to Hire or DIRECT HIRE Opportunity to work for our client in the greater Rochester Area.

Sr. Lead Quality Technician/Inspector will be intricate part of Quality team by providing support to Engineering and Manufacturing depts.

To be considered for this Lead Inspector role, potential candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in Inspection using Smartscope and CMM's with ability to calibrate and program.

Must be proficient with all standard mechanical measuring instruments including optical comparators, coordinate measuring machines and other measuring and testing equipment in include micrometers, and gages.

Must be proficient with standard mechanical drawing and Geometric Tolerancing.

Excellent math skills also required.

Responsibilities will include:

Testing and inspecting products at various stages of production process, 1st piece, In-process and final inspection.

Will compile and evaluate data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties:

Inspects all material as needed for conformance to requirements, reviews data and records results.

Recommends modifications to dimensional inspection records and quality planning documents.

Take part in determining and implementing corrective action in accordance with the Nonconforming Material Control Procedure.

Performs in-plant inspections tests per the Quality Plans and conducts gage studies.

Interface with Engineering and production to determine best plans of actions to produce quality products.

Laboratory testing of parts before production startup and verifies satisfactory completion of laboratory tests.

Perform laboratory testing when required and performs the final audit inspection per the Quality Plan and completes the Final Audit Inspection Report.

Compiles all records for the shipment per instructions and files in designated area.

Will be responsible for stopping production if appropriate, and complete all documentation and reporting required.

Ensures all inspections/tests specified have been carried out using the most recent documents issued for the job, verifies the results are acceptable and the records of inspection are complete, prior to authorizing shipment.

Prepares Shipping Authorization and authorizes shipment per instructions.

Creates measuring programs for DCC CCM's and measures parts using various inspection equipment.

Verifies calibration, performs calibration, and arranges for corrective action (recalibration, repair, or replacement).

Records completion of verification and/or calibration on the Calibration Records.

Qualifications and Education/Experience:

Must be proficient with all standard mechanical measuring instruments including optical comparators, coordinate measuring machines and other measuring and testing equipment. Must be proficient with standard mechanical drawing and Geometric Tolerancing is required.

Associate's degree (A A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training.

Computer Skills Required: Word, Excel (Spreadsheets), Internet software, E-mail, Database software and DCC Coordinate Measuring Machine operation Measure Manager CMM Software Programming Microsoft Windows NT

Work week is 4 - 10 hour days with Fridays off.
