Business Development Sales Engineer.

If you are an Engineer who enjoys customer interaction, solving problems, proposing ideas, offering solutions and enjoys working in a sales capacity this is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing company in Rochester.
You will be the bridge between customers, (current and prospects) and engineers involving million dollar projects and highly advanced products in the ever changing world of technology. As an Sales Engineer, you will work with all depts. within the corporation, and articulate ideas to the product design engineers and manufacturing to ensure custom products and solutions can be provided to a growing customer base such as Nasa, Boeing, US Military, telecommunications, electronics, etc. Must have a strong business acumen, a personality for sales, a quick study to learn new products, a willingness and attitude to do what ever it takes to satisfy customer requirements. Assist with all documentation, tracking and data input. To work with prototypes, create drawings, specifications, write proposals, generate quotes, track and verify new orders. Plan and track shipments, prepare monthly sales forecasts, support marketing dept, with brochures, prices lists, offers, technical papers, reference guides and other marketing material.
Will support trade shows, their preparation and prepare documentation.
Must have excellent computer skills, and and experience with Customer Relations software, MRP or ERP systems, and Cad experience is required. ideally Solidworks would be a real plus to creating drawings for design team.
qualify and follow up on leads, determine their value, generate quotes and track their status.
Will interface with Quality dept. to address quality issues and strive to achieve customer satisfaction at all times.
Must have a keen engineering mind to learn this highly advanced product line.
Other areas of expertise should include: some accounting and math skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with customers in a global market, excellent computer skills to include data entry into various systems.
Great attention to detail and follow up skills.
AS or BS degree, A business administration or engineering degree would be ideal.

This position reports to the Sales Manager and offers a very competitive salary for an Inside Sales Engineer.
Our client will consider an entry level engineer who meets above criteria with 3 to 5 years experience ideally.
A new engineering Graduate who has similar co-op experience may also be considered.
Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
