For 65 years the Indianapolis – Marion County Building Authority (IMCBA) has been proudly serving the city of Indianapolis. We are an independent municipal corporation whose purpose is to serve the needs of local government. The Building Authority has the statutory power to construct, acquire, finance, operate and maintain land and government buildings for the use of eligible government entities in Marion County. We are growing and looking for the right talent to be part of maintaining and state of the art and award-winning buildings, and grounds including the award-winning Downtown Canal, City Market and the Public Safety Training Academy at 10th and Post.
What we do
We operate and maintain over 15 properties including land and government buildings for the use of eligible government entities. We provide preventative maintenance, operation of building automation systems, interior and exterior remodeling, repair of facilities infrastructure, and groundskeeping.
About the job: Maintenance Tech
You will be part of a team that reports and takes direction from the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for performing mechanical preventative maintenance, repairing building alterations, monitoring the building automation systems, as well as HVAC for all Building Authority buildings. This job is suited for a well-rounded and experienced maintenance technician familiar with commercial building environments who is flexible and a team player.
Required skills and certifications:
ü EPA Certification
ü RP Device testing
ü Various Welding
ü Have experience and knowledge to perform preventative maintenance and repair for various types of HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment and all plumbing systems
ü Demonstrate knowledge to performs preventative maintenance and repair of the smoke and fire evacuation system including dampers, fusible links, activators and controls
ü Team with others, take direction and support all departments
ü Operate and monitor the buildings automation systems
ü Be responsible and comply with Building Authority policies, procedures and safety regulations
Successful Candidates will:
ü Have previous experience and working knowledge with the preventative maintenance, repair and installation of all types of HVAC systems, refrigeration’s systems, and various plumbing systems
ü Have previous experience and working knowledge with building automation systems
ü Have previous experience with pneumatic and electronic controls
ü Work from ladders, lifts and platforms at various heights, safely.
ü Able to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently
ü Able to work in various weather conditions.
ü Able to lift to at least 50 (fifty) pounds
· Driver’s License
· GED or HS Equivalent
