Intern-Safety and Crashworthiness Performance Engineer (Contract Summer 2020)

Primary Responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques
  • Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Acquiring data from NHTSA and IIHS databases
    • NHTSA and IIHS database includes their official vehicle safety tests
    • Other databases include automobile crashes; accident reconstruction and fatality information
    • Gather information; create and maintain internal databases
  • Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filter and clean data by reviewing published material regarding the subject matter
  • Willing to learn Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) and IIHS safety tests
  • Expertise in statistical and machine learning software's (eg. SAS)
  • Knowledge of Automotive Industry engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Applied Science
  • Knowledge of software tools
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Strong Analytical skills.
  • Proficient time management and organization skills
