As a the title indicates, this position is for a sales person to proactive sell commercial HVAC service contracts to a customer base that includes; medical buildings, large box stores, grocery store chains, hospitals, and virtually every other type of large commercial structures one can imagine. But to be clear, this position is selling the service agreements to repair and maintain the equipment at these facilities,. Not selling the equipment itself. So rather than calling on builders and architects, this would involve calling on property managers, the maintenance heads at large chain stores and such. And while technically the office covers an area of roughly 100 miles from St. Louis, 95% of all of their business is located within the greater St. Louis Area (from Alton, IL in the north to Festus, MO in the South, And from the immediate east side of the river in the east to Columbia, MO in the west. So while there may be some over night travel at some point, the vast majority of your time you will be home every night of the week.
What the office wants is a hunter, not a farmer. That is to say not someone who is simply going to maintain existing accounts, but someone who is proactively and aggressively going to go out and develop new business. That means calling people on the phone, visit places in person. Whatever it takes. It also means taking the time to learn about the company and it products and being able to sell the relationship and personalized service they offer.
