Director of Business Development, SAP BI-Sales

Basic Purpose:

Purpose of Position: Hitachi Consulting's National SAP practice is currently experiencing significant growth and we are actively recruiting strategic thinking, entrepreneurial, and energetic candidates to perform as proven leaders in the markets we serve.

Will manage the business development function and sales of the company's services related to SAP Business Analytics solutions (HANA, BusinessObjects, BPC, BW, etc) for a US-based territory.

Ensures achievement of strategic revenue objectives for assigned territory or industry segment which will be defined based on location and background of candidate. Primary role is generating, qualifying and closing new business for the company regarding SAP BI solutions.

Director of Business Development may focus selling to new customers, existing customers or both as defined in their annual Tasking Letter.

Establishes effective communications with appropriate executives, managers and clients to understand their needs and deliver effective proposals (in conjunction with the Service Delivery Pursuit Team). Teams with Service Delivery personnel to effectively execute the sales cycle. Participates actively in the SAP Go To Market team and helps the team achieve its goals.

Approximately 8 years of consulting service sales experience with five or more years of field sales experience.

Must have Business Analytics sales experience (software or consulting).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- 40% Helps coordinate and lead the sales pursuit process. In conjunction with Sales and Delivery team, develops new business from new customers and expands business with existing client relationships. Sees that sales strategies/plans are consistent with company's long-range strategic objectives.

- 40% Builds an SAP sales pipeline by developing, nurturing and maintaining client, alliance partner sales force and new business relationships.

- 10% Performs necessary sales administration to make sure that all parties are kept up to date on sales activities. Includes participating in weekly and periodic Go To Market team meetings and keeping Hitachi Consulting’s CRM system and other sales reporting tools up to date.

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment

Bachelor's degree in business, sales or marketing; advanced degree in business or marketing desirable. Minimum of 8 years in sales and/or marketing, with 5 or more years of business development management experience.

Specialized Knowlege or Skills

Excellent business development skills in business-to-business technology sales with the ability to effectively direct business development tasks in order to maximize revenues and profits. In-depth knowledge of sales principles and practices. Must work collaboratively with Service Delivery personnel. Excellent time management, communication, decision-making, presentation and organizational skills. Must have Business Intelligence experience and knowledge, ideally specific knowledge regarding SAP’s Business Analytics software suite.

Equipment and Applications

PCs, and various desktop software applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to do research on companies using Internet search tools.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

General office environment. Considerable travel required. No special physical demands required.
