Helen & Gertrude has an immediate opportunity for a New Media Designer. We’re looking for a multi-faceted designer that can produce quality content across a number of mediums including motion graphics, visual design, and web design. This role is responsible for playing a pivotal role in the conception and design of high caliber content at Helen & Gertrude across a multitude of digital platforms, including rich media ads for display and all major social channels. This role will act as a driving force to create thoughtful, elegant solutions that meet Helen & Gertrude’s client objectives.
The New Media Designer will work collaboratively within a cross-functional team to ensure our clients’ business needs are met while advocating the best solution for the end consumer. You will work alongside our Creative Services team, experts in the field of visual communication. Our team includes graphic and motion designers, 3D animators, copywriters, art directors, and an in-house studio production team. We produce brand development from naming and logo conception to global digital campaigns. This role would contribute to curating content development across multi-faceted digital placements, such as social, display, blog, e-commerce, and search, as well as Website and UX/UI Design, virtual event support, and custom geofilter & AR lens creations.
Create custom on-brand animations that tell the brand story.
Edit footage to include text/graphic animations and audio, such as music or sound effects
Create website layout/user interfaces/HTML5 ads using HTML/CSS knowledge
Stay plugged into emerging ad/web technologies and industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
Exceptional communication skills by participating in storyboarding sessions, design concepts using user flows, process flows, site maps/wireframes and present ideas to internal and client teams
General understanding of content management systems, search engine optimization principles, and cross-browser compatibility issues
Provide Art Direction aligned with the brand when an Art Director is not available
WHAT YOU NEED:
3-5 years of industry experience ideally in an agency setting
Present an exceptional portfolio
Solid animation skills, including kinetic typography and 2D/3D animations
Expertise in Graphic Design principles and a keen eye for composition
Expert knowledge of applicable Adobe Creative Cloud suite of programs (i.e. After Effects, Premiere, XD, Animate, Photoshop, Illustrator) Figma/Sketch is also a plus
3D modeling, texturing, animation skills in Cinema 4D and Snap/Spark studio capabilities are a plus
A flexible attitude towards evolving responsibilities and environments
Interest and passion for marketing, developing and growing large brands
Able to manage multiple projects at once and adhere to tight deadlines
Idea generation and brainstorming skills
Knowledge of video requirements for social media and display platforms
An understanding of digital trends (on major social platforms and google display formats etc)
