The candidate will join a team of software developers based in New York, responsible for enhancing and maintaining a collection of desktop and mobile apps. As a member of this team, the candidate will apply their existing skills in applications programming with modern language practices and advanced standard libraries. They will also be expected to become proficient with in-house and proprietary frameworks already in use. The candidate will complete tasks assigned in a period of two-week Agile sprints. They will track progress or offer feedback using project management software as well as communicate with the stakeholders using an intra-office messaging platform.
Duties and responsibilities:
Maintain and improve iOS apps deployed via Enterprise and B2B App Store.
Maintain and improve macOS and cross-platform application projects based on proprietary frameworks with both Cocoa and command-line user interfaces.
Develop and document new features within existing frameworks, complete with unit tests within the existing test harness.
Develop new applications according to UI and functional specifications, often with dependence on existing proprietary APIs and frameworks.
Contribute to team documentation while write new code and reviewing existing code
Submit completed patches to code review as well as assist in reviews of peer submissions.
Research and recommend frameworks and methodologies when participating in team planning meetings.
Experience & Qualifications
At least four years experience in applications programming.
At least two years experience in a software development team with project management.
At least two years experience developing macOS and iOS applications using Obj-C and Cocoa.
Educational or job experience developing applications in C++03 using RAII. Job experience with C++11 including TMP and PIMPL a strong plus.
Job experience working with continuous integration workflows. Expertise with JetBrains TeamCity and Upsource a strong plus.
Job experience working with version control software. Expertise with `git` software a strong plus.
Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively.
Willingness to develop within a technical architecture defined by specification.
