Greenwald Doherty is a growing, entrepreneurial, management-side employment law firm. We are looking for a Legal Assistant who values a congenial, collaborative culture and exciting work environment. The ideal candidate must be organized, detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
The role of a legal assistant is to support the firm’s lawyers with various tasks. For entry level Legal Assistants, these include maintaining and organizing an attorney’s calendar, meeting logistics, projects, document needs, reports, and their working space. It also includes supporting internal and external communication for scheduling and maintaining updated information on clients.
Intermediate level work includes conducting legal research and drafting documents. Paralegals will typically prepare documents and filings needed for hearings and trials.
Role in Detail:
General organization of attorneys
Maintain the attorney’s calendar
Schedule/coordinate call and meeting times for attorney and relevant parties such as:
Anticipate need for “Deep Work” time to be calendared and protected
Track and support completion of daily and weekly projects
Track and support completion of IHC client work
Propose new projects for IHC clients
Flat fee project status report
IHC work status report
Ensure attorney’s office is properly set up and stocked:
Equipment is available and working (computer, phone, etc)
Paperwork orderly or filed away
Surfaces wiped down/dusted
Internal: Provide daily action item list for attorney with clearly identified priorities
Assist in follow up with clients (write follow up emails, schedule next steps, etc)
Maintain client information as accurately as possible (update states they’re in, number of employees, opened new office, etc)
Ensure correct client name & information
Ensure format is standard firm format
Create/Insert table of contents for Handbook documents
Copy, print, and compile all documents needed for meetings (internal and external), trainings, etc
Organize client training
Put together training materials
Have them printed
Coordinate with onsite location for A/V and other needs
