GIS Surveyors Inc. (GSi) is a growing medium sized, Geospatial firm with offices in Poway (San Diego) and Yorba Linda (Orange County), California and Seattle, Washington. We are seeking an experienced Program Scheduler to assist Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) with their construction program. This position requires the candidate to report directly to the LAUSD District Office in downtown Los Angeles.

Conditions

  • This role will only be offered on successful award of the project by the LAUSD
  • If hired by the District, the candidate will be required to partake in a Department of Justice (DOJ) background check
  • The District has several paid holidays for their internal staff that are not normally paid holidays by the general public. They also have a furlough during the period between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The District does not allow Contract Professionals to work on these days, consequently the candidate may be required to take unpaid time off during these times
  • Candidates being submitted for candidacy at LAUSD may only be represented by one firm and a letter signed by the candidate confirming this will be required

Duties

  • Develops and maintains program schedules identifying relationships, logic, milestones, and constraints for construction projects of various types
  • Monitors and actively participates in project and program scheduling issues while administering best practices and standards
  • Obtains accurate and timely program schedule updates from project teams and performs QA/QC on information received
  • Creates and develops conceptual what-if schedules for multiple project types including large complex multi-year projects
  • Performs Critical Path analyses and Earned Value analyses
  • Prepares ad-hoc reports and analyses as directed by management

Minimum Requirements

Required Experience:

  • Eight (8) years full time paid professional experience in Scheduling for an owner or General Contractor, preferably working on multiple educational facilities or public works projects
  • Proficiency in Primavera 15.1 or above and MS Office Suite
  • Experience with projects using Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build project delivery methods

Required Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to build efficient working relationships with project teams and department staff

Required Education:

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management

OR

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in any course, but with additional two (2) years of experience in Construction Scheduling to compensate for the required education.

At a minimum, the candidate’s professional resume must include the following:

  • List of all Educational Achievements
  • List of all Professional Licenses or Certificates
  • List of Awards Received
  • Detailed Employment History with each company or government agency including
    • Name & Contact Information of the firm or agency,
    • Start Date and End Date (Month & Year)
    • Positions Held
    • List of Projects/Programs Managed including project value, location of assignment, roles and responsibilities and contribution to each project

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours.
