GIS Surveyors Inc. (GSi) is a growing medium sized, Geospatial firm with offices in Poway and Yorba Linda California. We are seeking an experienced GIS Coordinator to assist in the daily operations in our GIS department in our headquarters in Poway, CA.

The main duties and responsibilities of the GIS Coordinator are to assist the Project Manager by updating weekly statistics and monthly status reports, meet with client, organize and manage team, write clear precise emails and responses to inquiries, lead the team making calculated decisions based on complicated and sometimes subjective information. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of the basic workflows involved in the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) industry.
Work independently under the direct supervision of a Senior Project Manager on eGIS enterprise data related to infrastructure, land development and other related tables or tabular data per work orders and or as-builts.
Assesses project requirements, while implementing a sound approach or application to meet the needs of the project and client. Ensures that project deliverables satisfy project requirements.
Enhances project quality by providing ideas and suggestions to the team aimed at improving the effectiveness of the team, and of the project activities in general.
Takes a leadership role in executing field and office safety procedures.
Participates in corporate initiatives to assist in meeting the company’s goals for sales, profitability, quality and safety.
Provides QA/QC on own survey deliverables and calculations.
Manage and complete assigned project tasks for GIS teams.
Obtain clear direction from supervisors on all required tasks.
Responsible for managing and tracking KPI’s.
Perform other incidental and related duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Geography or related IT field
8+ years of GIS experience
3+ years of leading or supervising projects and/or teams
2 years’ experience in writing technical or programmatic documentation
2 years of working and editing in enterprise environment preferred (master’s degree can negate 2 years of experience)
5 years of working experience with ArcFM is a plus (3 years minimum)
Experience working/editing in Citrix/VDI environment is preferred
Knowledge and/or experience with data model related to utilities (gas, water, electric, etc.) is preferred
Ability to analyze and interpret data from many sources, including field data
Ability to create high-quality cartographic products suitable for client deliverable
Ability to effectively collect, process, and evaluate GPS data
Knowledge of ArcSDE (ESRI Geodatabase design structure and management), as well as general database knowledge, including the manipulation of tabular data in GIS, summarizing, joining, and linking related data
Python scripting and general application automation and development
Experience managing multiple tasks, documents etc.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours.
