GCAM is dedicated to and specializes in plasma industry. We are a growing company with multiple sites in multiple states, and we have an immediate need for a Full-time Donor Screener at our facility located in Indianapolis, IN.

Please note: This is an entry-level position and you do not need to have relevant work experience just a desire to grow, develop and learn. GCAM will provide in-house training. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates a plus.

Essential duties and responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducts pre-donation medical screening in accordance with established guidelines
  • Determines Hematocrit (HCT) and Protein via finger stick and use of the hematastat and refractometer
  • Promotes donor satisfaction through appropriate interaction and donor to customer needs
  • Assess donor suitability and engages in set-up, monitor, and disconnect procedures of the plasmapheresis machines and donors
  • Provides appropriate feedback to ineligible donor candidates
  • Ensure all donor screening information is complete and accurate prior to donation
  • Ensures donor confidentiality
  • Effectively communicates donor medical information to medical staff
  • Establishes and maintains donor files in an organized and efficient manner
  • Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of necessary records
  • Assists in maintaining a clean, organized and efficient work area, including maintaining supplies necessary to perform job duties
  • Maintains and ensures proper sanitation and cleaning of equipment and work area between donors
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety rules as stated in the Employee Handbook and otherwise posted or communicated
  • Other duties as assigned to meet company goals.
Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Must be able to show proof)
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Must be proficient in English (Read, Write, Speak) with legible handwriting
  • Current CPR card a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred
  • May be required to travel for training

Physical Demands
  • While performing duties, you will regularly be required to use hands and fingers, to handle & feel objects, tools, and controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Required to stand for extended intervals, walk, climb and balance; stoop, kneel and crouch.
  • Physical ability to operate equipment used in screening and donor floor areas that may require repetitive motions and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to lift, tug, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to read while standing or sitting in front of a computer for short periods of time
  • Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens
