The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing optimal, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommending and implementing improvements to production processes, methods and controls; and coordinating manufacturing efforts for new or revised product launches.


· Develops and evaluates manufacturing processes through design or research and by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators

· Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods, performing quality control evaluations, establishing standards, and confirming manufacturing processes

· Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements

· Establishes and updates standard manufacturing processing times

· Designs manufacturing fixtures for machining, forming, welding, and assembling

· Optimizes work flow and space requirements for manufacturing and assembly efficiency

· Converts CAD files for waterjet cutting or other CNC programs

· Evaluates, justifies, and recommends the purchasing of capital equipment

· Monitors and recommends tooling, materials, and supplies

· Provides manufacturing feedback to employees through reports, charts, or marquees

· Assists in creating and maintaining a safe working environment

· Implements and maintains a quality control system for manufacturing processes and final product inspections

· Maintains facility layouts

· Collaborates with Engineering and Assembly for best DFM and DFA practices

· Leads and participates in design or manufacturing reviews

· Prepares detailed process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing production data

· Maintains professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, professional publications, and networking


· Participates as a Design Engineer for the Engineering Department

· Sources new manufacturing vendors

· Creates and maintains routings and BOMs in MRP system

· Generates and distributes work orders

· Coordinates the manufacturing efforts for new product launches

· Converts CAD files for waterjet cutting or other CNC programs

· Provides employees training for new processes

· Participates in research and development activities

· Assists in the development and participates in system functionality and capabilities testing

· Minimizes equipment downtime through preventive maintenance and repair programs



· 4 year bachelor’s degree in related engineering field (BSME degree preferred)

· Minimum of five (5) years manufacturing engineering experience

· Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D (2 yr)

· Proficiency in MS Office 2010 or higher (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy

· Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

· Ability to understand customer requirements and sense of urgency

· Strong knowledge of stainless steel milling, turning, welding, sheet metal cutting and forming and other basic machine shop metal fabrication processes

· Work experience in a manufacturing environment

· Experience in engineering documentation systems and techniques

· Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills and attention to detail and accuracy

· Strong attention to detail

· Must be a self-starter, multi-tasker, team player, work well with others, and have a positive attitude

· Excellent written and oral communication skills and command of the English language

· Good core values and commitment to continuous self-improvement

· Good math skills

· Good typing skills

· Travel (primarily local during business hours, occasional overnight)


· Knowledge of poultry processing equipment and/or poultry processing plant environments

· Knowledge of other food industries or USDA regulations

· Knowledge of basic electronics

· SolidWorks solid modeling experience
