Position Overview

The Supply Planner is responsible for ensuring customer demand is met by analyzing historical as well as future demand to plan production orders in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system(s). The Supply Planner is also responsible for managing material inventories to support finished goods production plans by issuing purchase orders in the same ERP system(s) to replenish inventory, minimize obsolescence and provide overall cost and working capital containment.

Essential Functions

  • Creates manufacturing schedules and actively adjusts them to ensure on-time delivery of product to customers via an Material Resource Planning (MRP) system and ensures resources are appropriately deployed and all orders are met in timely manner
  • Plans and schedules workflow for each product according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times
  • Collaborates with Sales and Customer Service in detailed daily / weekly exception management to ensure target customer service levels at lowest landed cost
  • Collects past/future demand factors (distribution gains/losses, price changes, new/disco products, promotion plans, etc.) from Sales and Marketing and forecasts/models their impacts on demand and supply plans
  • Works with internal production teams and Copackers to ensure that finite scheduling delivers the appropriate inventory levels
  • Proactively identifies supply constraints and proposes solutions through demand management, capacity expansion, level loading, or inventory hold strategy
  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements
  • Minimizes financial impact of finished goods or raw material write-offs through detailed analysis of demand and supply plans; performs root cause analysis of obsolescence and implementation of corrective/preventative action
  • Develops packaging/ingredient/finished goods run out plans with information from Project Managers, Supply Planning team, Marketing and suppliers to minimize obsolescence and meet project timelines.
  • Issues purchase orders through Fresca's ERP software based on production schedule/demand planning
  • Ensures accuracy of purchase, making corrections as needed
  • Tracks delivery times of products to ensure adequate materials for scheduled production
  • Monitors quantity and quality of products delivered; files freight claims and quality notifications as appropriate
  • Works with vendors to expedite orders as needed
  • Gathers documents from vendors to support various certifications/claims
  • Prepares reports and analytics as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Knowledge

  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills required
  • Must be able to work well in a self-managed team environment, including cooperatively scheduling work, vacation, hours, and team task assignments
  • Demonstrated experience in Order Fulfillment & Management, Transportation, Pricing Structure and ROS&D process
  • Preferred demonstrated experience or relevant knowledge in the following areas: ERP System, Forecasting, Planning, Inventory Management preferred
  • Ability to apply a logical, creative and comprehensive approach to problem solving
  • Capacity to comfortably interact with all levels of the business and customers to deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Judgment to resolve issues with the appropriate sense of urgency including after standard business hours support
  • Ability to maintain productivity and professionalism while under pressure to meet strict deadlines and balance multiple priorities; Displays attention to detail for both accuracy and content
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to analyze issues, develop corrective actions or continuous improvement process, align stakeholders to implement the change and communicate the outcome

Education & Experience

  • B.S. in Business, Supply Chain or related field
  • Must be familiar with ERP software
  • Experience in production control, planning and inventory control
  • 3-5 years of progressive Customer Service, Logistics or Supply Chain experience preferred

Work Environment

  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to work in both hot/warm conditions
  • Comfortable with a moderate noise level
  • Able to work in an environment with peanuts, tree nuts, and other allergens
