Position Overview

The Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial statements and inspecting and predicting future performance of the company. This includes forecasting future revenues and expenditures, modeling capital structure and budgeting.

Essential Functions

  • Performs financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking
  • Analyzes financial data and creates financial models for decision support
  • Analyzes past results, performs variance analysis, identifies trends, and makes recommendations for improvements
  • Works closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support
  • Works closely with the Continuous Improvement team to build and present business cases for efficiency justification
  • Works closely with the Business Analytics team to develop necessary dashboard reporting and track progression of projects and savings
  • Evaluates financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses
  • Increases productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
  • Performs market research, data mining, business intelligence, and valuation comps
  • Leads the development of financial models to analyze data
  • Maintains a strong financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and models
  • Communicates regularly to the CFO with project prioritization and status, resource needs, and progress to department goals
  • Leads the identification, collection, and processing of new data to supplement current portfolio
  • Responsible for all internal and external pricing activities and ad-hoc pricing requests
  • Plays a key role in the forecasting and budgeting process
  • Communicates directly with department leadership to scope requests and provides regular status updates as to project progress
  • Provides ad-hoc analysis
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Knowledge

  • Team oriented
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting projects and navigate organizational needs
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities; strong financial aptitude
  • Ability to perform duties semi-autonomously
  • High proficiency with financial modeling and technique
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent MS Excel skills; familiarity with data query/data management tools extremely helpful
  • Knowledge of relational databases
  • Experience with Tableau, a plus

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Statistics
  • Minimum three years of experience in data analysis and reporting
  • Track record of progressive responsibility within an organization
  • Experience with credit valuation adjustments, a plus
  • Manufacturing experience, a plus

Work Environment

  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to work in both hot/warm conditions
  • Comfortable with a moderate noise level
  • Able to work in an environment with peanuts and tree nuts
