Position Overview The Facilities Manager is responsible for the management of building infrastructure, material handling equipment, refrigeration and utility supply at all 5 locations totaling approximately 275,000 square feet.
Responsible for the hiring, training, performance management and daily supervision of facilities technicians
Responsible for the upkeep of material handling equipment including 30 powered industrial trucks.
Responsible for all management and coordination of building appearance and maintenance both internal and external.
Ensures the building meets health, safety and food safety requirements in compliance with company, local, State and Federal standards
Must maintain a working knowledge of all building utility capacities
Participates in, coordinates or leads utility maintenance and minor upgrades. Supports the engineering group in projects, upgrades, and expansions
Assesses the current condition of electrical, air condition, plumbing, refrigeration and other essential facilities and equipment
Ensures that all equipment related to the facilities are working properly
Responsible for management, coordination and oversight for all needed facility contractor services and contracts
Maintains documentation and records according to the company policies to ensure compliance for all external audits and customers
Effectively manages facility budgets
Responds appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise including evenings, weekends and/or holidays
Other duties as assigned
Skills & Knowledge
Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, HVAC, compressed air and natural gas supply and the “trade” categories associated with these
Working knowledge of or capacity to learn Microsoft Office Suite (outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point) and CMMS (eMaint or similar)
Ability to define problems and resolve them quickly
Familiar with local building codes and OSHA safety compliance standards
Familiar with current health and safety regulations
Familiar with current FQS and NSF regulations
Ability to work with ever changing priorities and situations
Able to work with individuals at all levels both in and outside of the organization
Able to excel as an effective member of the team
Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Education & Experience
4-year degree or related field or equivalent experience
5+ years facilities experience and demonstrated leadership skills
Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Able to work in both hot/warm conditions
Comfortable with a moderate noise level
Able to work in an environment with peanuts and tree nuts
