FCG has an account executive position open on our PR team for a self-starter, tried and true media relations specialist. The ideal candidate can FLOW in a fast paced, family oriented, and collaborative professional environment and can be the FLOW! What does that mean? This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has an entrepreneurial mindset, loves relationship-building with the media, has the ability to make things happen, stays current on trends and events in the media relations space, not afraid to ask questions, has an interest in developing strategies, strong organizational skills, familiar with media platforms (Meltwater, Cision, etc.) and wants to have an impact in the communities they live in.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and manage the flow of research necessary to analyze client issues
  • Monitor media outlets for coverage of client news and competitor developments
  • Help track and maintain media placements
  • Draft media relations materials
  • Generate story ideas and topic angles
  • Compose media plans and contribute to plan development processes
  • Understand industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client
  • Demonstrate knowledge of media pitching, placements, and tour scheduling. Pitch to clients’ top-tier and other media
  • Participate in and provide support for client special events
  • Demonstrate knowledge of social media platforms and how to cultivate relationships with influencers
  • Develop proposals, releases, client profiles, bylined articles and other press materials
  • Write, proof and edit client related documents as needed

Job Qualifications:

3-4 years of experience in the PR/integrated marketing industry. Previous agency experience preferred, but not required.

Proven ability to deliver media results and build relationships

Experience developing multi-layered campaigns with a multicultural focus

Strong project management skills and organization skills

Able to thrive and FLOW in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Experience with developing detailed media lists, coverage reports and recaps

Ability to gain a full understanding of relevant aspects of our clients’ businesses and generate fresh ideas to solve their business challenges

Preferred Skills:

Public Relations: Experience working with general interest, lifestyle, dailies and TV media outlets. Excellent relationship builder who can build a rapport with top media that is well respected. Ability to showcase brand messages, creative assets, etc., via print, digital and OOH, strong research skills

Interpersonal Skills: People friendly, self-starter, strong organizational skills, confident and persuasive presentation skills, experience working under tight deadlines and high level of professionalism

Written Skills: Great storyteller with excellent writing skills, strong attention to detail, organizational and multi-tasking skills and ability to be proactive


Professional Development: Committed to continuous learning; able to set and pursue goals
