We are looking for a highly organized and skilled content writer to support our virtual dental marketing company based in Spokane, WA. Our team creates websites for dental practices all over the US and Canada. Firegang is a premier dental marketing agency with a team of smart, fun, hard-working marketing professionals working remotely throughout the US.

Role Overview

The selected candidate will be expected to communicate clearly and daily, prioritize conflicting needs, handle matters expeditiously and proactively, and carry their projects through to successful completion, often with deadline pressures. The successful copywriter thrives in a fast-paced environment, is flexible with their schedule, and is a self-starter with a positive, “get it done” attitude.

We desire a unique skill set, so please review the job listing thoroughly and provide a resume, cover letter, and writing samples.

Reports to: Lead Project Manager

Description of Work:

  • Review and organize client information into a suitable site tree.
  • Write SEO-optimized content unique to each dental practice. The final product will be a combination of custom writing and service-specific material drawn from our content library. Content will be drafted within a program called Gather Content (bonus points if you've used this before!).
  • Organize and select appropriate photography for the website, drawing from a combination of client-supplied imagery and stock images.
  • Import and format the content in WordPress (this is a step-by-step process and will be trained).
  • Website QA.
  • Special projects - audits, process creation tasks, research, etc. as assigned.

Key Requirements

  • Highly skilled in writing and proofreading. We expect a 0% error rate in the grammar/punctuation of the copy produced.
  • Production of content for entire client website within one business week of receipt of information.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and implementation of SEO practices.
  • Impeccable eye for detail - duties of this position will include not only proofreading written content, but also website QA.
  • Basic WordPress skills such as the ability to add and edit pages.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills.
  • Calm under pressure.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Skill with computers, a high-speed internet connection and a computer in good condition (Mac or PC is fine).
  • Ability to learn company-specific software quickly.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Independent thinker who takes initiative and provides a unique approach to challenges.
  • Trustworthy.

Qualifications that will give you an edge over other candidates

  • Experience or knowledge in the dental industry.
  • Graphic design skills (Adobe suite).
  • Experience working in a remote environment or a situation with a great deal of autonomy.
  • Experience with website QA.
  • Located in the state of Washington (but we will still consider residents of other states if they seem like the perfect person for the job!)

Expectations and Specifics:

  • Compensation: This is a 1099 contract position with weekly pay.
  • Work hours will vary from 15-35 hours per week depending on client volume. Work hours during the months of September through November will likely be at the higher end of that range.
  • You will need to be available during normal business hours (9-5 PST) since regular communication with our staff will be crucial for success in this role. There will be some scheduled team/company meetings for which attendance is required, typically no more than 1-2 hours per week.
