Avionics Engineer - Integration

As a Firefly Avionics engineer specializing in Integration, you will be working with the world-class team of engineers and technicians at Firefly’s headquarters and test site to assemble and test our industry-disruptive launch vehicles. You will be responsible for developing documentation specifying how the vehicle avionics are assembled and integrated on the vehicle, monitoring the integration and solving problems in real-time, and testing the assembled vehicle to ensure its ready for launch.  Candidates should be strong in people skills and in working constructively in small teams.


  • Perform daily management and design work for development and integration
  • Develop work orders, plans and procedures for integration and system level testing of electronic assemblies
  • Develop detailed schedules vehicle level integration of Avionics components
  • Support integration activities, provide oversight for technicians executing Avionics work orders, and develop lessons learned and process improvement as necessary
  • Perform daily management and design work for development and integration
  • Maintain vehicle-level performance metrics related to Integration and feed lessons learned back to the design teams
  • Work with cross-disciplinary teams to determine solutions for system integration and test
  • Support vehicle operations and testing



  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical degree, preferably related to Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with the development, assembly, testing, or operation of low-voltage electrical systems or harnessing
  • Ability to support hands-on system level integration and test
  • Excellent understanding of principals of engineering across various disciplines 
  • Experience with standard lab test equipment, such as power supplies, oscilloscopes and DMMs
  • Ability to work independently under a set schedule


  • 2-5 years experience with low-voltage electrical systems or electronic hardware development
  • Experience writing work orders and working with ERP systems
  • Experience with hand-on low-voltage wiring, including pinning connectors and making harnessing
