Under the guidance of the Director of Community Building and Engagement, the Assistant Director of Community Building and Engagement advances community leadership and social cohesion in the Glenville and Hough communities. The goal is to provide equitable opportunities to thrive.
learn subjects important to our community: climate resiliency, education, sustainability, grant management, senior program development, transportation, youth programming, community art, and health and wellness, to develop programs for the community.
build and enhance existing partnerships with corporations, foundations, government agencies and other strategic partners at the national, regional and local level to increase resources and support to local solutions.
participate in grant-writing for projects, grants, etc. for community programs.
manage multiple complex and large-scale projects in a fast-paced team environment.
engage in a variety of venues such as pilots, technical assistance, and peer learning to advance equitable and inclusive community building and engagement practices and innovations in community development.
provide leadership on organizational projects, events and committees.
Knowledge of community development principles
Understanding of housing and community development history and policy
Familiarity with the racial and social equity issues
Excellent project management skills

Good grant-writing skills
