Accounting Specialist (Part-time/Remote)

FRC requires Influenza and Covid vaccinations, to include the first Covid booster, for all employees

The position is part time. Weekly hours will vary, with heavier concentration of work occurring between the 3rd and 4th weeks of the month.

Position can work remotely, with occasional travel to the business office, located in Fairfax, VA.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for all aspects of payroll with additional responsibilities related to 401k and human resources/benefits administration
• Accurately prepare, process, maintain and review payroll and related records for bi-weekly staff payroll and monthly payroll for 90+ physicians.
• Process monthly physician reimbursements and track annual education allowances for employed physicians. Ensure appropriate documentation received.
• Reconciliation and transfer of employee 401k deferrals and H S A funds for each payroll
• Process changes for employee demographics, withholdings, benefits deductions, direct deposits, special payments, bonus calculations and 401k contribution rate changes
• Monthly reporting to Bureau of Labor Statistics
• PTO management and timesheet accuracy
• Balance and reconcile payrolls (wages, taxes, deductions) & preparation of related journal entries
• Process invoices for payment (proper coding and scan/entry into Bill.com)
• Point of contact for vendor inquiries
• 1099 preparation

Required:

• Associate degree preferably in Accounting, and three years of directly-related experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred; OR comparable combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience with payroll and accounting systems and Microsoft Office
• Demonstrated experience with business writing (email, simple reports). Clear and concise verbal communication skills.
