Job Summary Assist in all phases of real estate transactions, research and drafting of documentation, as illustrated by the following examples. The specific duties may vary somewhat depending on the specific type of real estate transaction. This position will report to the Vice President of Operations.
Meet with Deal Champions regarding transactions and assist in gathering pertinent data.
Commence organizational documentation (short-term partnership agreements, filing certifications of incorporation, and securing tax identification numbers).
Quarterback acquisition/sales closings.
Quarterback closing checklists.
Create and organize organizational charts and deal structures.
Work with outside counsel for long-term partnerships.
Prepare and proof documentation for inclusion or completion of appropriate exhibits.
Organize documentation for execution by parties at closing.
Deal with title company regarding requests for documents, negotiation of title, etc.
Monitor and work transaction checklists and schedule of deadlines associated with closings.
Review and comment on contracts relating to property services.
Prepare shop space leases on standard form file in central repository.
Organize executed documents for closing binders and supervise the preparation of same.
Other duties as assigned.
Perform arithmetic calculations to verify calculations on forms and documents.
Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
Ability to proofread typed material for grammatical, typographical or spelling errors.
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff to provide information with courtesy and tact.
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate in person, via e-mail and telephone to provide information with courtesy and tact.
Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position; may require irregular hours.
Applicant shall have completed an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in Paralegal Studies or have completed a “Certificated” program by a nationally recognized paralegal association (such as NALA) or the equivalent.
Preferred, 2-3 years of Commercial Real Estate
