Emrgy, Inc. designs, fabricates and deploys hydrokinetic power generation systems that require innovative designs to maximize power capture and minimize cost. The Company is seeking an engineer with significant experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to support the product engineering team as it continues to evolve system design to meet customer needs.
Primary responsibilities include:
Oversee the design of fluid power systems and structures, as well as performing hydrologic surveys of customer sites estimating the hydropower resource
Play an integral role in evolving Emrgy’s CFD and simulation program to advance and optimize hydropower system design
Perform near field & far field CFD simulations
Understand open channel flows, canals, conduits, stream systems, and how to design efficiently for them
Data driven in all aspects of design, and strive to understand how fluid and mechanical systems work together
Strength in analyzing data to create technical reports and presentations
This role will help the Product Engineering team implement best practices and understand key trade-offs; collaborate with product, innovation, and sales teams to understand requirements and project schedules; all while ensuring best practices are followed, documented, and reviewed consistently
We’d like to talk with you if you have:
MS degree in engineering, preferred background in mechanical, civil, environmental
Advanced work in fluid design, fluid dynamics, hydrology
4+ years experience and/or advanced degree with a clear trend towards more responsibility (yrs
Strong team player with ability to work in cross functional teams
Experience with 3D CAD, Solidworks preferred
Experience with OpenFOAM, Simscale, cloud computing, or strong background with other advanced CFD software packages like FLUENT, NUMECA, STAR-CCM+
Experience with post processors and scripting in Paraview or Tecplot
Experience with programming or scripting in Excel, Matlab, or Python
Experience in wind or water electrical power systems is a plus
