The eCommerce Web Programmer (WP) is responsible for development and maintenance of the front-end of our online retail store(s) e-commerce platforms and associated web technologies (including online personalization, UGC tools and Google Analytics). The WP will work closely with other members of the eComm leadership team (eCommerce Manager, Data Manager, and Digital Marketing Manager) to build out our rapidly expanding portfolio of online retail stores. The candidate will assist the eCommerce manager in the management, monitoring and support of integrations with backend systems. The position will work with the rest of our eComm team to design and build out the format and features of the website(s) in order to maximize clarity and ease of navigation for customers. The position reports to the eCommerce Manager.

This role is responsible for managing and coordinating the site content, development and customer experience connected to brand and sales goals. This role requires a deep understanding of website analytics, website development, website behavior, merchandising and e-commerce insights that drive conversion rate. This candidate will work closely with marketing, sales and creative teams to deliver overall objectives set for the web business.

We are looking for a eCommerce web developer who is highly proficient in implementing the latest web technologies and has a keen eye for UI. This person must have very strong HTML and CSS knowledge.

Ideal candidate will have a strong ability to design and optimize engaging ecommerce websites. Responsible for front-end web related projects and content; supports global multiple company sites, and dev new ecommerce sites.


  • Develop, QA and implement changes, fixes and requests for new functionality on the front end of our eCommerce website(s).
  • Assist on product development requests for new platform features and functionality; specifying requirements, developing use cases, writing test scripts and performing QA as required.
  • Make recommendations for the development road map, identifying potential improvements to site performance and user experience based on new technologies and opportunities.
  • Implement and maintain pixels across the site. Including tag changes in Google Tag Manager and other third party tools as required.
  • Lead the support and troubleshooting efforts for both front and backend technical issues that impact our website(s), working with a variety of eCommerce platforms, 3rd party vendors, and the IS&T and Digital departments.
  • Participate in QA process for all platform upgrades, bug fixes, and new web development; create new test plans as required, ensure that test scripts are up to date, that all aspects of web technology are tested, that bugs are prioritized and fixed in a timely manner and that work goes live on schedule.
  • Monitor the day to day performance of the e-commerce platform, and associated integrations, working with platform providers to ensure that speed and uptime are maintained at optimal levels, especially during peak trading season.
  • Assist in tracking bugs raised with third party vendors
  • Work with third party platform providers and the internal IS&T department to optimize back-end integrations with back end systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create landing pages and optimize user experience.
  • Develop end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.
  • Improve the usability, design, content and conversion of the company’s eCommerce websites.
  • Work with UX teams to design compelling customer experience across channels: web, iOS and Android.
  • Execute projects under the direction of the eCommerce Manager, including creating planning briefs, project timelines, and ensuring deliverables are provided that meet requirements.
  • Collaborate with product, sales, and customer service departments to support ecommerce activities.
  • Support SEO execution including page tiles and metas, H1 tags, keyword inclusion, and working with the marketing team.
  • Proactively identify website issues that would negatively impact the customer experience.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including timelines, scope, resource allocation, tracking and providing consistent and concise progress reports to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Actively participate in technical, strategic and creative development.
  • Web design, leveraging cross-functional groups to improve the online experience.
  • Collaborate with corporate marketing, and manage outside resources to define and execute visual design solutions to enhance user interaction and experience.
  • Responsible for completing time-sensitive projects that require working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, JavaScript, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Oversee the modification of eCommerce templates, including mobile optimizations.
  • Initiate the design, development, testing, and delivery of web site applications, enhancements, components, and resolutions on an ongoing basis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, across multiple projects and tight deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
