We are seeking a full-time and/or part-time Veterinary Technician to join our team! The Veterinary Technician acts as the primary support to both doctors and patients of the practice. This position often manages multiple clinical tasks while tactfully interacting with clients, often under stressful or emotional circumstances. The Veterinary Technician often works independently but under the direct supervision of several doctors and the Technician Team Leader. The individual in this role must be detail-oriented, dedicated to the care of animals, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Previous experience as a veterinary technician is required.


  • Assist with the restraint of all animal species (dogs, cats, birds, exotics)
  • Access patient records and doctor appointments via computer and produce client invoices
  • Obtain specimen samples and give injections in accordance with doctor’s orders
  • Perform catheterizations, “in house” lab tests, & prepare samples for outside lab analysis
  • Take EKG tracing and blood pressure reading
  • Administer oral drugs, enemas & fluid therapy
  • Assist with surgery prep including room set-up, patient prep, instrumentation and doctor prep
  • Provide client education regarding vaccination protocols, nutrition, parasite control, spaying & neutering
  • Instruct clients on home care, medications, and post-operative care
  • Position, take and develop radiographs
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Understand veterinary terminology and abbreviations
  • Experience in directing traffic flow within the hospital to ensure prompt, courteous service to clients
  • Possess knowledge of and experience with nursing care for hospitalized patients
  • Have working knowledge of the euthanasia procedure
  • Knowledge of and experience with emergency protocols and procedures
  • Must be able to perform CPR
  • Understand pharmacy drugs, abbreviations and dosage intervals; fill prescriptions and prepare medications as prescribed by the veterinarian
  • Must understand anesthesia protocols and monitor patients

Must be flexible and able to work varying shifts Monday-Friday starting at either 7 or 8 am and working until 6 or 7 pm, and every other Saturday from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm.
