Job Summary:

The Associate Director of Project Management is responsible for leading the general operations for a project management department including leadership, coaching, vision and mentoring of their team. This position is highly involved with process and resource management bringing visibility on project performance agency wide. They assist with workflow tools, task, and delivery management. This person has strong knowledge of project management methodologies, concepts, and digital delivery. This position requires strong cross-department relationship building and integration and strong communication skills. This position is also versed in program management and will need to have strong client management experience.


· Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and often changing environment

· Ability to guide, develop and evaluate agency wide processes

· Ability to manage and negotiate with vendors and partners at the business-to-business level

· Ability to track and report on planned utilization at the department level

· Ability to juggle project management resources daily in a shared services model

· Enable effective risk and issue management

· Leads internal team in the definition of a detailed project schedules; holds the team accountable for delivering their commitments on time and on budget and escalates accordingly

· Leads project management team in conducting consistent budget to actual reviews of projects in progress

· Leads project management team in escalation of schedule slippages and works with other department managers in providing solutions to getting projects back on track

· Participates and contributes to scope / budget discussions, as needed

· Ability to integrate cross-channel and cross-department integrated project management practices

· Ability to represent department in new business write-ups ad responses and has strong presentation skills

· Ability to create complex integrated schedules with include tasks, resources, hours, and costs

· Provide visibility and transparency into overall company project performance utilizing project management toolbox

· Maintain and effectively apply a strong knowledge of technologies and implementation considerations related to the delivery and operations of digital and technical based solutions in a team environment

· Effectively supports standard quality management processes

· Works with the Executive Director of Operations to identify and assist with implementing tools, solutions, and effective processes agency wide

· Ability to guide and mentor program management staff

· Provide program management support when needed, and potentially have a client account of their own, providing daily client management and support to the assigned project manager to that account


· Proven organizational and interpersonal skills

· Proven team management and effective delivery management skills

· Proven knowledge of project management tools, including Microsoft Project, Confluence and JIRA. Knowledge of Advantage is a plus.

· Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

· Strong client management skills

· Experience interfacing with senior level management

· Experience evaluating and implementing agency-wide business processes and workflow tools

· Possess a collaborative working style

· Detail and process oriented

· Excellent drive and initiative, and sense of personal accountability

· Experience with managing multiple work streams and/or multiple clients

· Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Business Administration, Project Management, Knowledge Management or Marketing/Advertising

· Agency experience

· 10+ years of traditional and/or digital project management experience

· Team management and supervisory experience

· Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) is preferred

· Have physical and mental requirements to meet the above listed job responsibilities
