Portfolio Development Coordinator/Marketing Assistant

Douglas Education Center is searching for a very talented candidate to work with our Career Services Department and also our Marketing Department.

Below is an outline of the job duties and requirements. If you are interested in this position you must submit a portfolio, resume and your salary requirement to be considered.

• Will play a key role by assisting students in creating high quality portfolios that play a critical role in their successful placements in the workplace
• Responsible for doing classroom presentations, design instruction sheets, and conduct in-house “how to” seminars in basic photography techniques
• In addition to providing images for traditional portfolios the PDC will also collaborate with Career Services to create media for digital portfolios that may be uploaded to email accounts, Flickr, social networking sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn, and cell phones
• The successful candidate must be highly organized in order to maintain large databases/files of photographic images and scheduling of photo shoots
• Collaborate with Douglas Education Center’s Professional Skills Workshop instructors by making classroom presentations to help students realize the importance of image, branding, and social skills that should be considered as part of the total portfolio package
• Will keep ongoing inventory of necessary supplies and project future needs
• All other duties as assigned

• Provide photography for marketing materials, event coverage, employee head shots
• Assist Marketing Department in photographing student/graduate models for marketing efforts
• Manage and maintain photography catalog
• Large format printing for marketing projects
• Work with the Marketing Department to assist in all projects including, but not limited to; print advertising, brochures, flyers and web site
• Assist in promoting internal events (i.e. students parties, graduation, guest lecturers, etc.)
• All other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate must possess experience in all aspects of digital photography including lighting, composition, design, color correcting and be able to shoot in a studio environment or on location. Must also have a good understanding of commercial advertising and marketing. Lightroom and Photoshop experience is required.

In addition to photographing portfolio pieces, the candidate must possess the ability to shoot portraits, events, models, and everything for marketing DEC. Basic design skills and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated, accept challenges and be a part of a growing creative team.

The ideal candidate 5-years related work experience is preferred.
