Divine Mercy University is looking for an Accounting and Student Accounts Assistant to join our team and contribute to our mission by supporting our accounting efforts.
The Accounting Assistant will have a unique opportunity to grow as a professional in a highly motivating and demanding work environment. Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Assists the Director of Accounting with organizing, managing, and overseeing all aspects of Student Accounts . Creates invoices; posts receipts; reconciles financial aid, and other fees. Handles telephone and e-mail correspondence from students in a timely manner. Processes refund checks. Prepares deposit and receipt entries. Assists in the updating of, development and implementation of policies and procedures relevant to the efficient operation of the Business Office. Interfaces with offices of Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Affairs in executing school policies and procedures as outlined in the Academic catalog. Organizes student folders and files paperwork. Provide accounting and clerical support to the Director of Accounting Assists with A/P, processing bills from vendors Other duties as assigned by the Director of Accounting.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting or finance. Minimum of two years' experience in a fast-paced business office. Experience with student information systems required; knowledge of Quickbooks a plus. Superior customer service is essential, including written and oral communication. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. Strong knowledge of Excel and other related software
