DigiLens is seeking a bright, self-driven, independent thinking mechanical engineer to be part of the Advanced Tools and Systems Development team at DigiLens. As part of the team, he/she will be responsible for the engineering design of systems and modules which use new manufacturing techniques for augmented reality displays. In your role, you will drive innovation in mechano-optical design, robotic, mechatronic, and machine vision techniques.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Own and lead development of new systems and modules
Implement design decisions around new feature requests
Design contingency plans for critical machine updates
Analyze technical requirements with the team
Write technical documentation for new features
Test new design and for pilot and large volume manufacturing
Keep abreast of new technologies
Communicate with and drive vendors/partners for component procurement.
Work with a cross-functional teams per the requirements of individual projects
Support deployment of new concepts, tools, and processes in high volume manufacturing
Minimum B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, M.S. is preferable
10 years of experience in mechatronics, robotics, and mechanical design.
Deep knowledge in hardware design, precision opto-mechanics and automation
Experience with design of different mechanical systems
Ability to recognize impact / risks of adding new features in applications
Strong understanding of opto-mechanics principles and interaction between electrical and mechanical components
Hands-on experience in engineering and production environments
Track record of successful delivery of solutions for new technologies related projects and mechanical design
Ability to apply scientific problem-solving techniques
Quickly learns new technologies
Self-driven, motivated, with ability to work both independently and with diverse teams
Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
Strong customer focused attitude
