Formulation Lead-Scientist-Engineer

DigiLens the world leader in transparent Augmented Reality Display located in Silicon Valley, California is looking for a Formulation Lead-Scientist-Engineer. You will be working with a team of chemists & engineers developing nano-composite formulations, and work together with Materials, Optical and Process Engineering teams for developing XR Waveguide displays.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead a team of chemists & engineers, formulating and developing new inkjet printable holographic materials.
• Synthesis and formulation of high refractive index resins composed of organic/inorganic hybrid materials such as functionalized nanoparticles.
• Develop novel formulations for improved optical efficiency, thermo-mechanical reliability, and shelf-life.
• Characterization and structure-property analysis of holographic photopolymers.
• Additional hands-on responsibilities as needed.

Relevant Skills and qualifications

• Ph.D. in Materials or a related field. Minimum five years of experience with formulations related to polymers, nanoparticles, and liquid crystals.
• Proven experience of developing and formulating new materials which includes polymer and nano-material
• Attention to details, comprehension of organic formulations and material processing techniques for various substrates like glass and plastics.

• Team player with “whatever it takes” approach.
• Must be comfortable in working with light sensitive materials under red light or limited lighting conditions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
