“Hard-working group of positive individuals that get along in and out of the office.”
We are seeking a litigation paralegal with at least two years of litigation experience to join our law firm. The position pertains to all matters of litigation and insurance coverage. Notably, insurance coverage is substantially different than general insurance defense. Most of our coverage cases involve underlying construction defect lawsuits, so knowledge of construction law is a plus, but not required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and great organization skills required.
A typical week for the paralegal will involve organizing files, preparing exhibits, mailing, letter drafting, case management drafting, and other miscellaneous tasks. Paralegal may also be asked to draft motions to the Court and opinions to the client. Most of our cases are in federal court and, therefore, the cases are usually resolved "on the papers" without a hearing.
Great organization skills
Proficient writing ability
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Willingness to learn new areas of the law
Court / deposition experience
The starting base salary is $40,000-50,000, depending on experience, plus yearly bonuses for meeting minimum hour requirements. For exceptional candidates that meet all of the requirements above, with several years experience, the salary will be toward the higher end of the scale. For candidates with less than three years of experience, the salary would be toward the lower end.
We offer a matching 401k, health insurance, dental, and life. Coffee bar, laid-back work environment (unless there's a deadline), and unlimited snack and soda bar.
