We are seeking a Manufacturing Welder to become an integral part of our team! The Welder will use specialized equipment to weld and assemble new metal forms. Perform all kinds of welding, brazing, and cutting using MIG (occasionally, some TIG) welding equipment. Also required to accomplish various types of weld preparations, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture products to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products
  • Install and repair various equipment and components
  • Follow blueprints to meet product specifications
  • Calculate material measurements to verify specifications
  • Conduct tests to evaluate weld quality and tolerance
  • Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job from group leader or senior welder. Is given details of working procedure and tools and material requirements by supervisor.
  • Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology.
  • Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials.
  • Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.).
  • Conventional and precision measuring instruments
  • Process inspection, certification, and documentation & welding equipment maintenance\
  • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
  • Proficient in assigned welding techniques.
  • Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning, and welding necessary metals.
  • Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded. Sets up, assembles, and tacks weld parts.
  • Builds up worn or defective surfaces.
  • Uses burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.
  • Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Reports any unsafe or hazard condition to supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in welding, manufacturing, or other related fields
  • Familiarity with welding tools and procedures
  • Familiarity with engineering blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Certified Welders preferred.
  • Experienced in MIG welding of carbon steel in a manufacturing environment.
  • Dependable, Team Player, Follows Directions/Instructions, Flexible

  • Work involves varying degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable and costly.

  • Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when performing assigned duties.

  • Work involves considerable standing, stooping, bending and lifting.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & FACTORS:

    Physical requirements include manual dexterity and strength to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. with frequency.

    Physical ability to work while standing on feet for hours.

    Considerable stooping, bending, lifting, climbing ladders, and so forth is required.

    Considerable glare emits from work, requiring the wearing of personal protective equipment.

    Exposure to potential of moderate burns and flying objects, such as chips and scale.
