Job Title: Test Engineer

Due to rapid growth, Consulting Professional Resources is searching for a Test Engineer candidate for a local client.
Extensive knowledge of the application(s) that the engineer is responsible for
Follows established standards and procedures when implementing tasks.
Able to work on problems of diverse scope
Extensive knowledge in the Word and Excel applications
An in depth understanding of database design and queries
Knowledge of QA principles and software testing practices
Experience creating test cases, scripts, test plans and using automated test tools.
Interacts pro-actively within the product team to gain, if necessary, the cooperation of others within the team
Keep other groups informed of release and quality information by issuing quarterly newsletters.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Provides a timely update, minimum weekly, of work status using a chosen reporting system
Is able to work effectively as part of a team
Develop and execute testing protocols.
Work with customer, development group and architects to determine
specifications for performance, reliability, security and functional performance.
Responsible for providing and promoting quality standards, methods and practices. These will include planning, quality control and complete evaluations of quality processes and procedures.
Coordinates documentation changes resulting from new or changed software and ensures the correctness of the documentation.
Establishes test environments.
Design and implement test plans, cases, and data that fully test the developed applications to ensure all the requirements have been met.
Participates in requirements gathering meetings, which can include management, marketing, and customers
Drive the resolution of problems and refine the design/requirements where necessary.
Works with other members of the implementation team to resolve any ambiguities found in the requirements.
Write documentation, or work with others in the preparation of documentation, for users and internal customers.
Establish/refine procedures to control software release procedures.
Mentors more junior engineers and provides technical leadership on small projects.
Primary contributor on large projects
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
4 years of relevant experience
