Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications/operating systems. Also, coordinates work teams. Provides technical support to project team members. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 8-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. May report to an executive or a manager.

Work will involve maintenance and development support for an existing Windows, IIS 7, .NET 4.0 application and designing new platform to replace lagacy system. Visual Studio, C# and .NET 4.0 are required skills. SQLServer, and SQL experience is preferred. Experience with Subversion, Hudson and NUnit or other test framework are a bonus. Web development with, MVC, javascript and jQuery.

o Bachelors degree in computer science or relevant field required
o 8-10 years experience required

Responsibility level
o Exercises independent judgment with direction from supervisor

o Ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required)
o Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery (Required)
o Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
o Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance
o Design and develop software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
o Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between software systems, develop specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems
o Advise customer about, or perform, maintenance of software system
o Coordinate installation of software system
o Monitor functioning of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications
o Analyze information to determine, recommend and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system
o Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures
o Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals and technical issues such as software system design and maintenance
