REPORTS TO: Regional Manager, Field Services
SUMMARY: Install, troubleshoot, operate and configure company products and systems at customer sites. Instructs customer in product usage.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: Test and tune including machinery testing, control loop tuning and troubleshooting. Pre-commission activities including system checkout, instrumentation calibration, loop checks, and communication testing. Aftermarket and sales support. Remote technical support, systems engineering support and troubleshooting. Customer training & installation supervision. Prepare administrative (expenses, reports, etc.) and mentorship. Installation/site supervision. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required
PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP: Must be able to anticipate and assess customer-training needs, train in the field and from remote sites to ensure customer operation of equipment in timely, efficient, economical and safe manner.
SITE SPECIFIC: International: Must be eligible and able to obtain work visa or work permit in country/site of field assignment(s). Valid international drivers license preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience: (U.S.) Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.S.E.) from four-year college or university; or related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years of company experience. Experience with general company applications. Knowledge of at least two hardware platforms. Professionally qualified within country of operation. Must have recent experience in field engineering, technical customer service, training, and installation
Knowledge & Skills: Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Ability to proficiently use computers and information technology. Knowledge of basic computer hardware and peripherals. Knowledge of Windows, MS Office and company product-related software. Previous experience as a trainer is preferred
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, reports, and documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to customers, management and co-workers. Bilingual or multilingual preferred.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Extensive international and domestic travel is required.
