Status Offender Services (SOS) program provides crisis intervention and mobile crisis response, case management, therapeutic services, referrals to other community services, and psychiatric/ medication support services to children and youth 0-21, displaying at risk or acting out behavior, are truant, not doing homework, violating curfew, and/or involved in gang activity. They may also be experiencing family conflict, social/ emotional issues, homelessness, relationship conflict or domestic violence, and/ or behavioral problems.
Position Information/Requirements:Bi-lingual Starting Salary:Step 1-$51,311.72(non-licensed) -- Step 1-$59,442.08(licensed) upon certification.
Special Requirements: Must possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field plus 1 year experience. Must be active and in good standings a registered intern or licensed with the BBS. Experience working with at-risk children, adolescents and families. Ability to exercise good judgment and act calmly in emergency situations. Must be willing to work with clients in a clinical setting, in the community and/or in clients home. Program/client base includes Gilroy, San Jose and/or Morgan Hill. Community-based work to include home visits and school based services. Experience working with crisis intervention, family therapy and substance abuse. Preferable experience working with the DSM IV and setting therapeutic goals. Demonstrated ability of cultural competency by effectively working with people differing in value systems, ethnicity, cultural backgrounds, language capabilities and disabilities. Experienced ability to work in a fast paced environment with good time management skills with the ability to maintain appropriate documentation is required. Strong computer, written and verbal skills required. Preferable experience with County Mental Health paperwork and procedures strongly preferred. Work effectively in a team environment or independently. Flexible schedule may be required to work some evenings and/or weekends. Daily travel is required which may include transportation of clients. Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid California Drivers License, auto insurance, and automobile.
