Program Information:

Direct Referral Program (DRP) provides mental health services, Botvin Life Skills groups, and parenting classes to youth in South San Jose, Gilroy, and Morgan Hill who are referred through the San Jose Police or Santa Clara County Probation Departments. Youth must be referred through Santa Clara County Probation or the San Jose Police Department.

Competency Development & Support Enhancement (CDS) Skill-building program for youth referred by Probation with histories of high risk, anti-social and early offending behaviors and for those with substance abuse and gang involvement.

Position Information/Requirements:Bi-lingual Starting Salary:Step 1-$51,311.72(non-licensed) -- Step 1-$59,442.08(licensed) upon certification.

Special Requirements: Must possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field plus 1 year experience. Must be active and in good standings as a registered intern or licensed with the BBS. Experience working with children, adolescents and families involved with juvenile probation. Experience working with substance abuse in adolescents, preferred. Preferable experience working with the DSM IV and setting therapeutic goals. Demonstrated ability of cultural competency by effectively working with people differing in value systems, ethnicity, cultural backgrounds, language capabilities and disabilities. Community-based work to include home visits and school based services. Must be willing to work with clients in a clinical setting, in the community and/or in clients home. Program/client base includes Gilroy, San Jose and/or Morgan Hill. Ability to exercise good judgment and act calmly in emergency situations. Experience and ability to work in a fast paced environment with good time management skills with the ability to maintain appropriate documentation required. Strong computer, written and verbal skills required. Work effectively in a team environment or individually. Flexible schedule, may be required to work some evenings and weekends. Daily travel is required which may include transportation of clients. Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid California drivers license, auto insurance and automobile. Bi-lingual, Spanish-speaking preferred.
