The Resource Development Manager’s primary role is to be an active contributor in the Advancement Department reaching its annual revenue goals through a combination of donor stewardship, giving campaigns, donor engagement, administrative and systems support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspire donors to be excited to be a part of CHW.
Manage acknowledgement process: In accordance with internal processes, identify and prompt proper thank-you communications for all donors; create and maintain all letters for all gift and constituent types.
Develop a calendar to visit and cultivate corporate donors.
Develop, plan and establish goals for corporate giving.
Develop, plan and implement year-end and giving Tuesday campaigns.
Develop, plan and implement campaign for donors 10k and under.
Design inspiring event campaigns and supervise implementation
Develop and manage inspiring stories for donors/stakeholders.
Develop and manage the Resource Development Associate; work on monthly, weekly goal setting.
Develop plans and campaign structure for corporate and donor campaigns.
Oversee the successful planning of grand openings and fundraising events, and provide guidance to associate for implementation and goal setting.
Primary Salesforce expert assuring data entry and report design..
Oversee donor database, gift entry, reporting, reconciliation, and acknowledgement process in software.
Ensure all marketing contact lists contain accurate and current information and that new donors/prospects are consistently added and up to date.
BA degree or equivalent with 3-4 years resource development, overseeing events, and project management.
Must have experience with corporate giving, cultivation, and follow up.
Proficient in face-to-face storytelling and making an “ask”.
Demonstrated experience using and generating reports on fundraising within a database software (Salesforce Preferred).
Excellent writing skills for grants and story telling that are effective and positively impact charitable giving.
Proven experience in delivering compelling presentations; preferably to civic groups, city officials, etc.
Must have supervised, managed, led, staff person(s).
Very strong attention to detail, managing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines.
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations, and to interact confidently with donors, staff, volunteers, and vendors at all levels internally and externally.
Ability to take initiative in identifying and solving practical problems.
Flexible with hours based on department needs – minimal nights and weekends.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint) plus internet research.
Valid driver's license and regular availability of an insured vehicle to travel within San Diego County.
