The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks a Certified Pharmacy Technician II to join its current pharmacy team, together with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team, to handle electronic and manual billing procedures. This position is located at 2130 Stout Street Denver, CO 80205 and reports to the Manager of Pharmacy. The ideal candidate must be a Colorado Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and have an understanding of pharmacy reimbursement system within a high volume ambulatory care setting.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Oversees processing of 500-700 prescriptions per day, including managing technician staffing in streamlining daily workflow responsibilities
  2. Trains and mentors technicians on pharmacy processes, policies and procedures and compliance with HIPAA & pharmacy state board regulations.
  3. Performs all areas of pharmacy processing including data entry, prescription filling, customer service and resolving insurance issues
  4. Performs prior authorization requests and escalate clinical drug-related cases to pharmacist for review
  5. Processes and codes all related pharmacy invoices
  6. Supports pharmacy management by troubleshooting operational issues
  7. Maintains strict confidentiality of patient information according to organizational protocol and HIPPA regulations

Qualifications Summary

  1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  2. Must have a minimum of 1-year work experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  3. Work experience with insurance billing required.
  4. Board Certification as a Pharmacy Technician with Colorado required (PTCB).
  5. Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) required or able to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
  6. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.

The mission of The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children and individuals throughout Colorado. Our History
CCH was established in 1984 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. It was founded by a group of individuals with a will to take action on behalf of Colorado's homeless. They recognized the struggles of working people living in poverty. And they refused to tolerate the dangers faced by those people sleeping in their cars, in tents, or on the streets.

More than 30 years later, many of the underlying social causes of homelessness persist, like poverty, shortages of affordable housing, and unattainable healthcare. The Coalition's integrated housing, healthcare, and supportive service programs have been highly effective at responding to these conditions over time.
