What is a Cover Letter?
A great cover letter is instrumental in getting your resume to rise to the top of the stack. It’s your first impression on a potential employer, letting you showcase your personality, strengths, and value to a company. Applicant must be a college or university student in the 2015-2016 school year.
Applicant must have a 2.5 GPA or higher to be considered.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the US.
Applicant will be required to show proof of enrollment. College acceptance letters or college transcripts are accepted.
Your cover letter may be a written essay between 130-500 words, a video, song, or other medium of your choosing.
Cover Letters are due Wednesday May 25 by 11:59pm (PDT). Submissions after this deadline will not be considered.

Official Rules for the Creative Cover Letter College Scholarship Challenge
How to Enter
To participate in the Creative Cover Letter College Scholarship Challenge ("Promotion"), read these Official Rules and upload your submission via the online registration form ("Registration”) available at www.ziprecruiter.com ("Promotion Site"). Eligible persons who complete the Registration ("Registrants") may submit one (1) cover letter in the form a written essay of between 130-500 words in any format, e.g., Word format, or a video or song (“Submission”). Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Submission entries will not be returned. By entering the Promotion, Registrants agree to abide by these rules, and represent and warrant that the Submissions are their own and original creations, and do not violate or infringe the rights, including, without limitation, copyrights, trademark rights or rights of publicity/privacy, of any third party.
May Entry Period
The May Promotion starts at 12:00am (PDT) on May 1, 2016 and the deadline for Submissions is 11:59:59pm (PDT) on May 25, 2016. The winner of the May Promotion will be announced within 30 days of the deadline for Submissions.
Eligibility to participate in the Promotion or to win the Prize is limited to individual persons at least eighteen (18) years of age at the beginning of the Entry Period, who are legal residents of the United States or its territories and possessions, and who are college students, graduate school students or returning adult students who are currently enrolled and attending an accredited college or university in the fifty United States, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories and possessions. Limit one (1) Submission per individual. Any effort by an entrant to misrepresent himself or herself through the use of aliases or multiple e-mail addresses will disqualify that entrant. Entrants who disregard these Official Rules are not eligible to participate or win. Directors, officers, employees, contractors and agents (and their immediate families and household members) of the Sponsor, its subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies or any other company involved with the design, production, execution or distribution of the Promotion are also not eligible.
Five (5) finalists will be selected by Sponsor, and then one out of the five will be determined to be the winning cover letter by a panel of judges chosen by Sponsor. Entries will be judged based upon content, style, creativity and effectiveness in attracting attention from an employer. The decisions of the judges and Sponsor with respect to the selection of the winner and in regard to all matters relating to this Promotion shall be final and binding. The winner will be notified by email.
One winner will receive a scholarship check in the amount of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) to be applied toward the winner's college expenses such as books, tuition, accommodation, etc., for the academic year 2015-2016. In order to receive the prize, the winner will be required to provide Sponsor with proof of current enrollment and attendance at an accredited college or university. In the event that there is an insufficient number of qualified entries or if the judges determine in their absolute discretion that no or too few entries meet the quality standards established to award the Prize, Sponsor reserves the right not to award the Prize. The potential winner must comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements listed. All expenses, including taxes (if any), related to receipt and use of Prize is the sole responsibility of the winner.
Conditions of Participation
By completing a Registration, Registrants grant to Sponsor, its agents and others working on their behalf the right to use the Registrant's name, likeness and Submission for advertising and marketing purposes, including on the Promotion Site, without additional compensation, unless otherwise prohibited by law. Unless a Registrant otherwise opts out, Sponsor and its designees may use the Registrant's physical and/or e-mail address to contact the Registrant regarding Sponsor's services and other offers and/or promotions. All Registration entries and Submissions become the property of Sponsor. Sponsor shall not be responsible for lost, late, misidentified or misdirected Registration entries or Submissions, or telecommunication or computer hardware or software performance, errors, delays or failures. If, for any reason, the fairness or integrity of the Promotion becomes compromised, or the Sponsor's administration or fulfillment of the Promotion becomes impracticable, Sponsor reserves the right to terminate or modify the Promotion.
The winner of the Prize will be notified by e-mail. Sponsor may require the prize winner to execute an affidavit of eligibility or confirmation agreement, publicity release (except where prohibited), liability waiver and/or IRS Form W-9 (if required by IRS regulations) prior to the delivery of the Prize (collectively, "Affidavit" or "Confirmation"). If the winner does not respond to the notification within five (5) days, is found to be ineligible, fails to execute the Affidavit and/or other documentation required by Sponsor within seven (7) days of request, the Sponsor may consider such winner to have forfeited the Prize, and another prize winner may be selected as time allows. The Prize will be awarded within approximately thirty (30) days of the winner's complete response to notification. Sponsor makes no warranties with regard to the Prize. The Prize is not transferable and the winner has no right of substitution.
Announcement of Winner
The Sponsor will announce the winner of any Promotion within 30 days of closing date of each Promotion.

Disclaimers, Dispute Resolution and Limitations of Liability
Each Registrant hereby releases, and agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Sponsor, those working on its behalf, and each of their respective officers, directors, representatives, employees, agents, successors and assigns, from any damage, injury, death, loss or other liability, either at law or equity, whether known or unknown, asserted or non-asserted, that may arise from or in any way relate to participation in this Promotion or the awarding, acceptance, use or misuse of the Prize or any other substitute prize. Any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Promotion shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action. This Promotion shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of California, regardless of conflicts of laws principles. Any action or litigation concerning this Promotion shall take place exclusively in the federal or state courts sitting in Los Angeles County, California, and each Registrant expressly consents to the jurisdiction of and venue in such courts and waives all defenses of lack of jurisdiction and inconvenient forum with respect to such courts. Each Registrant agrees to service of process by mail or other method acceptable under the laws of the State of California. ANY CLAIMS, JUDGMENTS AND/OR AWARDS SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ENTERING THIS PROMOTION. REGISTRANT HEREBY WAIVES ANY RIGHTS OR CLAIMS TO ATTORNEY'S FEES, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ENTRANT, WHETHER FORESEEABLE OR NOT AND WHETHER BASED ON NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE.
