POSITION OVERVIEW & PURPOSE: As DEI Program Coordinator, you will report to the Diversity Outreach Manager. In this role, you will provide administrative and project support in advancing Citizens’ Climate strategic vision for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion primarily by supporting CCL’s volunteers across the country.
POSITION REPORTS TO: Karina Ramirez, Diversity Outreach Manager, Diversity Department, Remote within the U.S.
SCHEDULE & LOCATION: Full-time. Work hours are flexible and will include some evening hours to participate in team calls. The position will be a remote work location with meetings using internet applications. Successful applicant will provide their own workspace, computer, internet connection and mobile phone. Expect occasional travel post-Covid.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: As DEI Program Coordinator you will provide general administrative support to the Manager. As a team member, you will:
Support BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) diversity action teams and chapter and regional DEI teams.
Support volunteers engaging in anti-racism work and DEI outreach, including training and resources and webinars offered on our organization’s volunteer web portal.
Work with volunteer community reps on BIPOC outreach and support; and other assignments and projects as directed by the Diversity Outreach Manager.
Some social media support will be required.
Other duties as needed or required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of DEI grassroots principles, concepts and work.
Commitment to a bipartisan approach to solving the climate crisis.
Experience recruiting, engaging and training volunteers, especially from diverse backgrounds.
Experience and comfort working with BIPOC and members of diverse communities.
Have willingness to work with people on both the political right and the political left.
Access to a computer with camera, phone and reliable internet that will allow you to work remotely.
Spanish/English bilingual a plus.
Members of BIPOC communities encouraged to apply.
Social media knowledge and skills highly recommended, but not required.
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
