JOB SUMMARY: The Welder Hydraulic Technician will be responsible for disassembling cylinders, performing inspections and repairs utilizing a variety of methods to include MIG, TIG, and Stick welding. Technician will also write repair recommendations.
Dismantle and reassemble defective machines and equipment.
Proficient in assigned welding techniques
Inspect and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
Utilize measuring instruments and perform mathematical calculations.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.
Install new or repaired parts.
Form and bend hydraulic tubing.
Other duties as instructed.
High school or equivalent required.
Ability to read Blue Prints
Successful completion of welding test
Degree or certification from technical program preferred.
A minimum of 5 years work related experience.
Must have own tools.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:
Must be mechanically inclined.
Experience with reading Hydraulic schematics.
Ability to use various tools for measurement (i.e. micrometer, id micrometer and calipers).
Knowledge and ability to identify and install hydraulic fittings and tubing on machinery.
Work is performed primarily in outdoor environments with possible exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, moving objects, sharp edges, and all types of weather and temperature conditions.
Manual dexterity, sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time;
Occasional work on ladders, scaffolding or high structures;
Visual acuity to read printed and electronic documents;
Hearing capacity to receive, perceive and react to common construction environment auditory stimuli;
Lifting and / or exerting of force up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds of lifting / force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of lifting / force constantly to move objects; and
Must be able to work in a field environment on occasion as project requires. Occasional travel per job requirements.
