BOX BUILD TECHNICIAN II

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the preparing and/or finishing of product builds for the Box Build department prior to final quality control inspection or test.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

o Read mechanical drawings and assembly instructions.

o Note errors in customer and Company documentation and suggest changes and improvements to supervisor.

o Redline documents as needed.

o Install finished PCBAs into mechanical housings.

o Install cable assemblies.

o Follow torque specifications.

o Help maintain a clean and organized box build area.

o Ensure proper labeling of products.

o Inform supervisor or lead of any issues found on in-coming parts.

o Audits kits from Stockroom to ensure the counts are correct.

o Review checklist, BOM, and product information sheet to see if there are any changes from previous builds or change in instructions or information for New Product Introduction (NPI).

o Follow weekly production schedule for the department.

o Inform immediate supervisor/team of shortages and other issues which may affect the schedule.

o Keep safety stock of all production consumables and order supplies as needed through immediate supervisor.

o Follow ESD procedures.

o Other duties as assigned.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

o Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.

o Act as a member of the Box Build team and attend and actively participate in requested meetings.

o Assist in training other co-workers on various jobs as requested.

o Must follow all safety requirements, promptly report safety accidents and illnesses, and report potential safety issues, concerns and situations to supervisor or lead.

o Follow chemical and MSDS procedures.

o Stay abreast of current industry technology, trends and knowledge, and share this information with the Company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

o High school diploma or equivalent.

o Two (2) years established work experience, preferably in a manufacturing or computer component environment.

o Excellent communication skills and ability to establish and maintain positive and effective communication with other team members, customers, vendors and other third parties.

o Good written and oral communication skills.

o Must be able to read and comprehend assembly and build instructions and other written material.

o Excellent attention to detail.

o Must be able to learn and work with LEAN working methods and processes.

o Must comply with standards set by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and be free from federal warrants and must not be on any federal watch list.

o Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

o Ability to learn and utilize other Company software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Frequent standing, walking and sitting.

· Occasional stooping or crouching.

· Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.

· Frequent use of hands and repetitive motion tasks.

· Must be able to work at computer or workstation for extended periods of time.

· Must be able to see and accurately delineate between various colors.

BOX BUILD TECHNICIAN III

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the preparing and/or finishing of product builds for the Box Build department prior to final quality control inspection or test.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

o Read mechanical drawings and assembly instructions.

o Define processes for assembling builds where customer documentation is insufficient or non-existent.

o Generate written assembly instructions with pictures and part numbers.

o Note errors in customer and Company documentation and suggest changes and improvements to supervisor. Redline documents as needed.

o Install finished PCBAs into mechanical housings.

o Install cable assemblies.

o Follow torque specifications.

o Help maintain a clean and organized box build area.

o Ensure proper labeling of products.

o Inform supervisor or lead of any issues found on in-coming parts.
