Cabinetworks Group has an immediate opening for a Senior Cost Analyst supporting our corporate office in Ann Arbor, MI!
Responsible for supporting the cost accounting processes of the company, to include month-end journal entries, maintenance of standard costs, inventory reconciliation, production of periodic financial reports, and adherence to internal controls. The Senior Cost Analyst is responsible for providing ongoing analysis and support related to cost of sales (material, labor, and overhead) and inventory.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare month-end journal entries for cost accounting (reserves, inventory variances, etc.) in compliance with critical reporting deadlines.
Reconcile inventory in general ledger against the sub-ledgers.
Provide analysis of Inventory trends by location and inventory types for forecasting and variance analysis.
Compile manufacturing cost and transactional reports to support analysis and decisions by finance, supply chain or manufacturing leadership.
Partner with operations managers to perform cost-benefit analyses, and recommend process improvements and unit changes to reduce costs
Assist in budgeting and forecasting process.
Analysis annual cost standards for reasonableness and anomalies.
Lead the annual physical inventory process across the division
Adhere to all appropriate financial policies such as GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley.
Perform ad-hoc analysis and other duties as may be assigned
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
3 year manufacturing cost accounting experience.
Knowledge and application of basic accounting procedures and cost accounting processes.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Access.
Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence and initiative without daily interaction with management.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Experience with ODBCs, SQL and Visual Basic.
Prior Oracle ERP experience.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
