Full-time opening for Shop Technician. Work hours are Monday through Friday 7:30am-4:00pm plus overtime.
You are responsible for managing all aspects of the equipment repair process, including:
Diagnose and repair machines.
Complete requirements to be John Deere Certified.
Complete continuous education required to maintain certification.
Record thorough accurate stories on work order of work performed.
Order and return parts in a timely manner.
Communicate with manager the status of repairs.
Your compensation will be an hourly wage. Time-and-one-half paid for hours worked in excess of eight hours in one day. All hours worked on Saturday will be paid at time-and-one-half of the regular hourly rate. Sundays will be paid two times your regular hourly rate.
Based on department profitability and individual efficiency.
Health Insurance – CL Boyd’s managed care network is BlueCross Blue Shield-Oklahoma. CL Boyd pays 88% of your premium and subsidizes a portion of the premium for dependent coverage.
Dental Insurance – CL Boyd’s managed dental network is Delta Dental. CL Boyd pays 100% of your premium and subsidizes a portion of the premium for dependent coverage.
Life Insurance – CL Boyd currently provides $50K of life insurance at no cost to you. Supplemental amounts can be purchased for a monthly premium.
Prescriptions – There is a prescription medication plan administered by United Healthcare. A comprehensive list of drugs is covered by this plan and co-pays vary by drug type in 6 tiers ($0/$10/$50/$100/$150/$250)
Vision Insurance - CL Boyd's managed vision network is VSP. CL Boyd pays 50% of your premium.
Uniforms – Uniforms are provided to all Shop/Service employees free of charge. A normal quantity of uniforms is 11 shirts, 11 pants with two jackets during cold weather. Insulated coveralls are available to technicians as needed. Boyd hats will be furnished as part of the uniform.
Safety Equipment - Safety boots are required. Employees are furnished on a 50-50% cost basis a maximum of two (2) pairs work boots per year. Required safety glasses, shields and hard hats are furnished 100% by the company. Boyd will furnish prescription safety lenses on a 50-50% cost basis.
401K – You are eligible to participate after 90 days of continuous employment. Enrollment windows are January 1 and July 1. 14 investment options are currently available thru Sentry Insurance, who administers the plan. Contributions can be made traditional pre-tax and/or Roth after-tax. CL Boyd currently offers a dollar for dollar match for the first 4% investment. You are always 100% vested in all of your Plan accounts.
Holidays – The following (8) days are recognized as paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the following Friday, Christmas and one personal floating holiday for your birthday.
Vacation – Can grow to 20 days a year – 1 year = 5 days; 2 years = 10 days; 10 years = 15 days; 20 years = 20 days
Sick Leave Bank = 48 hours per year, earned monthly at 4 hours per month

Tool Account Assistance – All technicians are eligible after completing their 90-day orientation period. Tools may be purchased by company purchase order and payments payroll deducted interest free. Purchases will be repaid by the following payroll deduction schedule:
If total purchases equal: Deduct each pay period:
$1 to $500 $25 until paid
$501 to $1,000 $50 until paid
$1,001 to $1,500 $75 until paid
$1,501 to $2,000 $100 until paid
Insurance for tools is provided at no cost to employee.
Computer – A laptop computer will be provided.
Training – Transportation, housing and meals will be paid or reimbursed by the Company while attending regional or factory training. Employee is paid for their regular 8-Hour daily wage while attending school.
