What does Blue Medora look for in a Software Developer?
We are looking for people who have already demonstrated the ability to become experts in the tools and languages they are using. We are less concerned about what tools and languages you currently know than we are about your aptitude to quickly learn and adapt to the changing development landscape. People who are a good fit at Blue Medora have personal projects that make our developers say wow, would rather read tech blogs than read about their high school classmates on Facebook, and install Gentoo Linux for fun on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
So what does a Blue Medora Software Developer do?
Blue Medora is looking to add team members who enjoy developing software, care about code quality, and are committed to craftsmanship. We create software responsible for monitoring, reporting, and analyzing some of the largest software applications in the world. We enjoy our work as much as we enjoy working together and want developers who can get things done while having a positive influence on our workplace environment.
Blue Medora creates management extensions developed in Java, C++, C#, and JRuby. We use Ruby for all our testing and scripting needs. Because our management extensions are deployed on several operating systems, we work with several flavors of Linux, Unix, and Windows. We also encourage and set aside time for developers to create tooling and applications to improve our workflows.
At Blue Medora we create tools for monitoring and managing enterprise hardware and applications. Our developers, QA, and IT collaborate within an Agile framework, but we're not dogmatic about it. We have venture funding, but we have personal lives, too. We also encourage and set aside time for developers to create tooling and applications to improve our workflows.
